This is an old box of ammo I tested. In my findings. Eley Prime was the old name for Aguila, Aguila in Spanish actually means Eagle. This ammo can no longer be purchased but it sure was fun testing it out. This is probably most similar to the Aguila Target Competition Ammo, however I am only going to speculate and I am not going to leave the stats of the ammo or a link to it as that may or may not be the case.
There is literally no information about the ammo on the box except for the name of it. So that is all the information I can give you at the moment. I will try to hunt this down and see if I can find some old records somewhere to see what the fps and the ft/lbs of this ammo was.
The bullets were tested at 50ft or 16.67 yards, using 50 rounds of ammo. The gun used was the Ruger Mark IV Competition with a 6.88” barrel. It has a 1:16” RH twist and a 3.5lb trigger pull.
The groupings were as follows, I only had 8 flyers and one was a little wild. I contribute that to the ammo just being old. Even for old ammo it still had a precision of 84%, yeeeaaa haaawww. That means 1 out of almost every 5 is going to be a flyer. With that said the grouping including flyers was 1.75 inches wide by 2.5 inches high. If you take out the flyers the groupings were 1.375 inches wide by 1.5 inches high. So that is really good for an older ammo that is no longer in production.
